This Month's Film: Steam: The Turkish Bath
Whenever I make a Middle Eastern meal, the menu isn't complete without a big pot of lentil soup. And with the change of seasons, it's the perfect choice...light yet warming.
I usually make a much simpler lentil soup, with only onions and a little cumin added to the stock. But this time, I also added garlic, leeks, grated carrots, and diced tomatoes. The result was much more colorful and robust... an excellent segue to the Mediterranean salad that followed.
