This Month's Film: Memoirs of a Geisha
This is my favorite noodle dish. It’s a tiny portion of cold buckwheat soba noodles, marinated in ponzu, a Japanese citrus soy sauce. As a garnish, I tuck a tiny ball of wasabi paste into the curl of a single prawn. When time comes to eat the zarusoba, the prawn is enjoyed first, and the wasabi is stirred into the ponzu to create a zingy, tangy dressing for the refreshingly cool noodles.
