Black Cherry Granite with Sakura Mochi
This Month's Film: Memoirs of a Geisha
For my ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’ dessert I decided to make Black Cherry Granite, and on our trip to Japantown for the Cherry Blossom Festival last weekend, I picked up a Sakura Mochi at Nijiya Market.
The granite is so simple. It’s made with Black Cherry Soda, frozen in a shallow bowl and stirred a couple of times while it is setting. And the Sakura Mochi is a rice dumpling filled with a sweet bean paste called anko.
