Special Thai Cooking Utensils
This Month's Film: Nang Nak
Other than a wok and some kind of steaming pot, Thai cuisine doesn't require any special cooking utensils per se, however there are several items that would make preparation easier. A blender or mortar and pestle for custom-blended curry pastes, a crock pot for slow-cooked stews and curries, a grill pan or electric grill for satays, and of course, an electric rice cooker. Except for those extra accessories, a set of garden-variety cookware and a set of basic cutlery should adequately serve your needs.
