In addition to its own exquisite cuisine, Japan offers an abundant array of international foods, of which, Chinese is probably the most common and popular. Chinese restaurants are ubiquitous, and many home cooks have a few Chinese dishes in their repertoires.
In my research of Chinese cuisine in Japan, I came across an excellent article by Harley Spiller, Off the Menu - Chinese Food in Japan and about Yokohama's Chinatown, which presents a comprehensive overview on the subject.
