The most common everyday beverages are tea with milk, and a yogurt drink called lassi. Beer is also brewed in Nepal, with the favorite brands being Gorkha and Everest. A homemade wine called tongba is made with fermented millet seeds and hot water sipped through a straw. The strongest of Nepali spirits is rakshi, a grain alcohol made with millet.
