Fried Octopus

Chopstick Cinema

This Month's Film: Woman in the Dunes
Cuisine: Japanese

This little dish was an afterthought. The smallest package of baby octopus was two pounds, so there were lots of extras to play with, and on a whim, I decided to dip a few in batter and deep-fry them. The tentacles curled beautifully as they fried, they were golden and crispy, surprisingly tender, and I served them with a tangy ponzu dipping sauce. Definitely a tasty success for an afterthought.

The recipe will be posted at the end of the month along with my 'Woman in the Dunes' film review.
