The Napa Valley has what is often referred to as a classic Mediterranean climate. Hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. But after last week’s torrential rains, the temperature has dropped dramatically. The past few nights, it has even dipped down into the 20’s.

This means I’m having to cover the plants on my balcony at night, and my house is dreadfully cold in the mornings. And once I’m up and about, I rarely get it warmed up enough to play around in the kitchen with my new camera before it’s time to shut down for the night again. I’m beginning to think there’s some kind of cosmic conspiracy going on…
