I’ve had a couple of plump lamb shanks in my freezer for several months, waiting for just the right evening to enjoy them. And it looks like tonight’s the night. My son Will has a chorale performance so I’ve got the evening free to play in the kitchen. I’ll be slow-roasting them over a bed of mirepoix, and serving them with Will’s favorite: Risotto Milanese.
While the shanks are in the oven, there will be time to watch a food movie titled ‘The Trip’. My best guess is that it’s sort of a British take on Sideways: Two guys hit the road on a gourmet tasting tour of the English highlands.
